We Review Lady GaGa - Brisbane Entertainment Centre
Oh my god! You’re Medieval Barbie!

Lady GaGa has without a doubt proven herself as a top notch showgirl. Within the first two minutes of the show I knew this was one of the best concerts I would ever see, a floating Wizard of Oz inspired GaGa head floating above the stage, (sorry, the castle which as the tagline states, opened revealing the rooms inside like said medieval Barbie), telling the audience the story of a girl who is starting a rebellion on the planet ‘Goat’.
Before I knew it there she was off to the side on unicorn guided by her dancers, looking like every inch the cute pop star alien we thought she was when she arrived in an ‘egg shaped vessel’ to last year's Grammy awards.
The lady herself stated she was happy to be in Australia and encouraging her little monsters as much as possible throughout the night, as deserved considering some had been trying to camp outside Boondall since the week previous. GaGa was giving mantras such as “even when someone is being so mean to you, try to find it in your heart to find compassion”. GaGa wanted to give back to her audience as much as possible by bringing between five and twenty people backstage each night, during the finale bringing a young girl on stage and giving a special area in the stage to the dedicated monsters who had waited, which by the way was definitely worth waiting since 9.30 in the morning for.
The show was creatively, passionately and undoubtedly detailed and thought out, it made 2010’s Monster Ball tour look like an average diva’s pop smut. There were no tacky screen backdrops, no stupid video interludes and the costumes were flawless, ranging from a creepy alien to a latex demon, a floating model and a gun toting military chick...at one point a gun toting chick in a meat dress.
I have to say singing Born this Way at the top of my lungs along with GaGa is definitely tied, maybe even beat, my experience singing Purple Rain with Prince.
This concert was perfection, the costumes designed beautifully, an interesting storyline, an intricate set, a very inclusive setlist and most importantly a passionate performer. I like everyone had my doubts at the start, but the lady is great in the business of evolution and this concert clearly has Madonna shaking in her heels.
You name it, GaGa can top it, she was born this great.
