After impressing audiences at the prestigious Rare Finds Festival in Brisbane late last year, The Dead Leaves were moved to a slot on the main stage to join the likes of Gotye, Xavier Rudd and Salmonella Dub at the Peats Ridge Festival, delivering a memorable set to tens of thousands of New Year’s Eve revellers.

The Dead Leaves new single is titled ‘Ordinary Lot’ and will lead into the bands’ forthcoming album Cities On The Sea on 24 February 2012.
‘Ordinary Lot’ has been re-mixed in the U.S by Matt Wallace who has a very long and distinguished c.v including Faith No More’s ‘Angel Dust’ (voted the #1 Most Influential Album of All Time by Kerrang Magazine) and Maroon 5’s Grammy Award winning album ‘Songs About Jane’ which included the multi-platinum singles "Harder To Breathe" "This Love" "Sunday Morning" and "She Will Be Loved" with 10 x million albums sold Worldwide.
Cities On The Sea is a majestic rock album that conjures its own atmosphere and panorama of emotions and moods, an immersive experience that engulfs the sum of its parts in a unique alchemy of sound and images. Matt is a journeyman songwriter from Melbourne via Dunedin who’s drawn from every well from Joy Division to Johnny Cash.
A number of notable online websites including news.com.au and theage.com.au have included The Dead Leaves in their acts to watch in 2012 list and Mess & Noise also highlighted the arrival of their debut.
The Dead Leaves are playing shows throughout Feb / March and Matt Joe Gow and Andy Pollock are supporting Kate Miller-Heidke for a few select acoustic shows at the end of March:
